boreal tropics

Montréal’s south shore

Creation of a pool, a spa and a backyard with a spirit that is playful and totally exotic. The client candidly asked this question: what prevents us from creating a tropical setting despite our inclement climate? The challenge was flung and accepted.

Beige-tinted concrete serving as a beach and enclosing a pool where the turquoise water and curves blend provide the impression of a lagoon. Bridge and marine roping evoking a rustic suspended gangway, authentic palapas, old-fashioned stake fence held together by sisal rope – with an integrated outdoor shower – and plants with unusual textures, all combine to infuse the setting with an unmistakable tropical feel.
